Last Sunday started the World Poker Tour at the Foxwoods Resort & Casino. The final table will start on Friday. About the prize, specific numbers haven't been told. However, each year more and more players registry for the tournament so the prize is supposed to be larger than last year.
As a result of the growing popularity of poker, the registered players had to be separated in two groups, because the facilities aren't big enough. Because of this, what normally will take one day, now takes two: day 1-a and day 1-b. At the end of day 1-a, that started with 410 players, only 118 players remain. Some of the most important and renown players, like Michael Gracz, velyn Ng, Mike Caro, John Phan and the former champion, Tuan Lee were beaten on day 1-a.
The chip count at the end of the day placed Lyle Berman, general manager for Lakes Entertainment (WPT Enterprise's is part of it) on the first place and Mark Seif obtained the second.
